Cultivating Vulnerability

I really do try to put some careful thought into the way I title my photographs. To me, the marriage of words to image, whether they be poetic, academic, spiritual, amusing, or just downright emotional, can make or break an image very quickly. I think the written word is every bit as powerful as our hunger as photographers...for a creative visual representation of something.

In seeking out what vulnerability really means (which felt rather appropriate to me today) I came across a TED talk recently and I'd like to share it with you. It speaks to cultivating vulnerability. And why on earth would we want to do that? I think...because it's part of the process of growing, rather than becoming stale and stagnant, something I've been struggling with in a mighty way lately. Maybe some of you can relate.
