Because of My Children

Because of my children, I am gentler than I might otherwise have been.
Because of my children, I can laugh until there are tears running down my cheeks.
Because of my children, I have learned to get up almost cheerfully in the wee hours of the morning.
Because of my children, I have a softer heart.
Because of my children, I am less judgemental toward my own mother.
Because of my children, I have more friends.
Because of my children, I still remember how to blow bubbles and walk barefoot in the grass.
Because of my children, I have learned to forgive and not hold grudges.
Because of my children, I know myself better.
Because of my children, I try that much harder.
Because of my children, I cry that much harder.
Because of my children, I have hope in our future.
Because of my children, Mother's Day happens year round, not just one day of the year.
Because of my children, I have been blessed.

Every single decision I make about what material I do, what I'm putting out in the world, is because of my children. - Meryl Streep (and Roni Delmonico)
